Spring Lake has always been a beach resort town and was established as such in 1875 when the Osborn farm was purchased by the Spring Lake Beach Improvement Company in order to develop the Spring Lake Beach Resort. Sadly, the oldest house in the town was recently demolished, but many other historic buildings and homes remain.
